Obama Will Stump For The Chicago Olympic Bid

Obama’s decision to go to Copenhagen and help push for the Chicago bid is a good decision. Many on the right like have taken issue with it for the message it conveys (that he doesn’t care about the myriad other issues facing the U.S.), that it directly benefits him and his cronies in Chicago through the revenue it will bring, etc, etc.

Personally I think it’s a good idea. It promotes pride in our country, it’s a commendable cause, and hosting the games could possibly bring revenue to Chicago and like many other cities, we need it. Besides, presidents personally pushing to host the games in their country is nothing new.

There are better debates to focus on like Afghanistan, health care reform, the economy, etc.
